Harry Mayers – Club Professional
Harry Mayers is the Head PGA Professional and runs the Coaching Academy and professional shop here at Churston Golf Club. A highly qualified professional known for his patience and knowledge, Harry helps players of every standard, from complete beginners through to elite golfers.
Harry’s connection with Churston runs deep. He started golf at the age of 12 as a keen junior member of the club, going on to win many junior titles and to represent the club, the county and his country from an early age. His proudest moment came in 2012, aged 17, when he represented his school and Churston playing for the English schoolboys.
Whether you are picking up a club for the first time or fine tuning your swing, Harry and his team are ready to help you enjoy your golf and play your best.
Richard Coffin, Junior Coaching Pro
Richard Coffin is a PGA professional with more than 45 years in the game, and he heads up the junior coaching program. He first fell in love with golf following his father around the course as a boy, and after a career change in his forties he found his calling in coaching.
His approach is deliberately simple. Rather than teaching to the masses, Richard works with each player as an individual, keeping his advice clear and direct and looking for the quick wins before moving on to complex swing theory. Juniors at Churston get a coach who understands them, supports them, and believes in what they are capable of.
