More than 120 years of women's golf at Churston.
Welcome to the ladies’ section of Churston Golf Club, founded in 1902. We are an active and friendly section. Our weekly Tuesday competitions are followed by a presentation, which is the ideal social get together to meet everyone and get to know the section. Booking for competitions and friendly games is done online.
We welcome working ladies, who are able to play in most competitions on the weekend before a Tuesday competition, so the calendar works around real life.

Churston ladies represent the club in three Devon County team competitions, as well as the Annoddat team competition, which caters for a wide range of handicaps. We also enter the Devon League and play friendly ladies and lady vets’ matches against other Devon clubs throughout the year.
We have a thriving vets section with friendly matches against neighbouring clubs, plus a monthly three ball team fun competition for everyone to enjoy. There is opportunity for competitive golf to suit all abilities, from your first competition through to county league, and plenty of social golf alongside it.

Beyond The Course
Bridge, backgammon, away days, ABBA parties.
We are a social group and enjoy many other activities alongside the golf. Bridge afternoons, backgammon nights, away days to other courses. Casino nights, line dancing, ABBA parties. The Tuesday competition is the start of the week, not the whole of it.
New Members Welcome
All abilities welcome, no exceptions.
New ladies of all abilities are welcome at the club. Our club professional Harry Mayers runs a Get Into Golf programme for complete beginners, so whether you are an experienced golfer moving to the area, a returning player after a break, or completely new to the game, there is a way in.
A member of the ladies’ committee is solely responsible for new members and will personally introduce you to other new members and help you find playing partners. No turning up on the first tee not knowing anyone. Just an introduction, a cup of tea, and somewhere to start.
