🌱 Behind the scenes: moisture monitoring at Churston

With no rain for eight weeks, our irrigation system has been running every morning to keep the greens healthy and consistent.

But it’s not simply a case of watering every day. 💧

Last week’s 13mm of rainfall gave us enough moisture to switch the irrigation off for five days. Our greenkeeping team takes daily moisture readings, allowing them to understand exactly when the greens need water and, just as importantly, when they don’t.

The result? Smarter irrigation, less water wasted and healthier greens. 👌

The greens are currently in fantastic condition following our maintenance week two weeks ago, and we’re hoping for a little more help from the skies in the early hours of Thursday! 🌧️
