A few of the Churston GC chaps who have proudly captained and represented the club in the Palairets and various other teams headed off to Portugal for a well-deserved golfing break.

And, in a remarkable act of bravery, one lucky Torquay member, Mark, decided to join them!

To be fair, it was fantastic to see the Churston lads being so respectful, gracious and magnanimous about the recent Palairets victory…

Well… for the first 10 minutes anyway. Until the T-shirts came out

Even better, they made Mark feel incredibly welcome and included, proving that underneath all the rivalry, banter and competitive nonsense, we really are one big golfing family.

Although we’re not entirely sure whether Mark has been converted to the Churston way of life… or whether he’s currently looking for the quickest flight home!

Great company, great golf, plenty of laughs — and probably a few stories that are best left in Portugal!
